Gurdas Maan was the one and only Punjabi singer to win the best playback singer at 54th national film awards for singing “Heer” in wariss shah’s “Ishq da waris”. The actor was born on 4th January 1957 at Giddarbaha located in Punjab. the singer from a very young age has an interest in music and use to listen lanchand jamunaji on the radio. He said in his childhood they used to sing in a friends circle for time pass as they didn’t have phones or other ways to entertain themselves

The singer is multi-talented and knows many languages other than Punjabi. The singer is also fluent in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Haryanvi, and Rajasthani. Not only he is fluent in these languages but he has also worked in Tamil movies such as Mamaan Magal.~ Other interests

The singer in one of his interview reveals that he wanted to join a job in judo profession but lost half of his certificates in an accident and even one of his certificate been ripped, he said “I cried so much that day but god tore my that certificate but gave me one which took me to the royal Albert hall”

The singer is married to Manjeet Maan and has a son Gurickk Maan. His son went to Eton school where prince William and prince Harry also studied. The singer believed that one should raise their children wisely as they will only reflect their parent’s traits later on.
